Chesapeake Shores: Meghan Ory’s High-Risk Pregnancy During Filming

By Kanyi M

Last month, Meghan Ory revealed that she experienced a couple of scares while filming the last season of the Hallmark Channel show about the O’Brien family. The show’s star, who plays Abby O’Brien-Winters on the series, said she was hospitalized for intense vomiting, nausea, dehydration, and dizziness. She had experienced a bad case of morning sickness.

The Canadian star thanked her “amazing cast,” crew, and husband for their patience as she dealt with the illness.

When the medical crisis was over, Meghan Ory said she wanted to be honest about what she went through on social media to spare the pain other expecting mothers may have to experience.

Hyperemesis Gravidarum is the clinical term for severe morning sickness during pregnancy. This vomiting can be so intense that a woman feels she will die if she doesn’t vomit every 30 seconds. The body can’t hold onto anything other than what is required to keep the baby alive.

The actress disclosed that filming was incredibly difficult for her through her Instagram account. Scenes for the new season of Chesapeake Shores were shot in South Carolina and Virginia.

Meghan Ory also thanked her two nannies for their help during her difficult pregnancy. And yes, the actress has more than one nanny. Two nannies become the norm as her husband is also in a television series. In the same way that sick teachers and nurses can’t be given “any leeway” by their bosses, actors and actresses don’t get any leeway if they are sick.
