Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s case is one of the most explosive celebrity divorces. Their ongoing trial has captivated millions of people around the world. And people are taking sides. The couple was married in 2016, and everything seemed to be sunshine and roses. After all, they weren’t shy about declaring how great the other was. The pair seemed happily in love. The way they spoke about each other made it seem like they were lovesick. Later in the case, Amber told the court that she witnessed Johnny abusing drugs and alcohol a year after they first met. Nevertheless, the wedding went on in 2015,

The Beginning of the End: Amber Files A Restraining Order

The pair’s relationship wasn’t free of problems even up until their marriage. But it was when Amber filed a restraining order against Johnny in 2016, that people knew their relationship was truly ending. She was armed with photographic evidence of Johnny’s supposed domestic violence. And she stated that she was applying for the demand because of his most recent assault.

Amber claims that Johnny was furious a few days before because he was focusing on something that wasn’t valid. She said that this led him to throw his phone at her head, which was why she had a bruise on her eye and cheek. Apparently, there was also grabbing and hair-pulling involved.

Johnny’s Reputation Is Tarnished

During the last days of May, the court granted Amber the restraining order. In light of the news, Johnny’s lawyers immediately responded that “Amber is attempting to secure a premature financial resolution by alleging abuse.” According to Johnny’s side, Amber made up the story to get money from Johnny.

Amber didn’t hold back, though. She stated, “During the entirety of our relationship, Johnny has been verbally and physically abusive to me. I endured excessive emotional, verbal and physical abuse from Johnny, which has included angry, hostile, humiliating, and threatening assaults to me whenever I questioned his authority or disagreed with him,” she told the court.

They Settle Out Of Court

Come August; the pair ended up deciding on an out-of-court settlement. Amber withdrew the restraining order after receiving a $7 million settlement sum. She was also asking for $50,000 in alimony. She made a considerable point to mention that it was never about the finances and vowed to contribute it to two charities.

“As described in the restraining order and divorce settlement, money played no role for me personally and never has, except to the extent that I could donate it to charity and, in doing so, hopefully, help those less able to defend themselves,” her public statement said.

They Release A Joint Statement

The pair also released a joint statement. They said, “Our relationship was intensely passionate and at times volatile, but always bound by love.” While this might have aimed to explain why their relationship had come to that point, it only left the public with more questions.

The statement also included these lines: “Neither party has made false accusations for financial gains. There was never any intent of physical or emotional harm. Amber wishes the best for Johnny in the future.” It seemed like the couple had found some peace with each other. Sadly, that peace didn’t last very long.

Who Got What In The Divorce

After a year of the restraining order ordeal, the couple finalized their divorce. And, of course, like in any other divorce case, each one of them got to keep things from the relationship. In addition to her divorce settlement, Amber also got to keep the dogs. 

On the other hand, Johnny got to keep the properties all around the world. That is probably because they were all under his name. Before he got married to Amber, he already had acquired most of these properties in his possession.

They Both Agreed To Play Nice

According to the Hollywood Reporter, there was a non-disparagement clause in the pair’s settlement. This meant that neither of them could bad-mouth each other or talk badly about their relationship. As high-profile celebs, this was in their best interests.

However, we know that was not the case. Amber claims that it was Johnny who first broke the clause. She accused him of bad-mouthing her to several media outlets, saying she was lying about the domestic abuse. She also claims this earns her the right to punitive damages.

Amber Writes The Op-Ed

In December 2018, The Washington Post published Amber’s opinion piece. In the op-ed, Amber wrote about how “men have the power – physically, socially and financially.” She said that “in every walk of life, women are confronting these men who are buoyed by social, economic, and cultural power.” As for her hopes for the future, she wrote, “I want to ensure that women who come forward to talk about violence receive more support.”

Soon, this op-ed started their battle against Amber’s alleged defamation of her ex-husband. Although she didn’t mention his name directly in the piece, Johnny claimed it suggested he had been abusive in their marriage. 

Johnny Tries To Clean Up His Reputation

A year after The Washington Post published the op-ed, the pair went back to court. Johnny sued his ex-wife for slander. And he demanded $50 million in corrective damages. He claims that, through the op-ed, Amber was also attacking his reputation.

Amber was allegedly shocked at the sum of money Johnny’s side was demanding. She wanted to dississ the lawsuit, but she only succeeded in getting the trial moved forward a dwq months. This allowed her team to prepare a stronger case.

Both Teams Release Their Official Statements

According to Johnny’s lawyers, “The op-ed [Amber’s article] depended on the central premise that Ms. Heard was a domestic abuse victim and that Mr. Depp perpetrated domestic violence against her.” They also stated that Amber’s “implication that Mr. Depp is a domestic abuser is categorically and demonstrably false.”

In response, Amber’s team said, “Johnny Depp physically and verbally abused Amber Heard. Since their divorce, Mr. Depp has continued to harass Ms. Heard publically and attempted to gaslight the world by denying his abuse. It is long past time for Mr. Depp’s despicable conduct to end.”

Amber Tells Her Side Of The Story

With such a costly and high-profile case, Amber had to go straight to the big guns. One of her most extensive-= claims is that Johnny didn’t just hurt her once. She says that she went through several instances of abuse and referred to her ex-husband as “The Monster.”

Amber said that things became terrible a year into their relationship. That’s when it got physical. She stated that Johnny’s substance abuse triggered it. Amber also recounted one incident when they were in Australia. Johnny was filming Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales at the time. And Amber said the incident left her “naked and barefoot, covered in alcohol and glass.”

Amber Hits Johnny

By January 2020, phone recordings were being released. Amber was recorded admitting to getting physical with Johnny in one of them. She says: “I’m sorry that I didn’t, uh, uh, hit you across the face in a proper slap, but I was hitting you; it was not punching you. Babe, you’re not punched.”

“I don’t know what the motion of my actual hand was, but you’re fine. I did not hurt you, I did not punch you, I was hitting you,” she continued. As an ambassador against domestic violence, this was pretty damning evidence against her. It didn’t help her claim or image to the masses.

Amber Claims It’s Self-Defense

Given the recording, Amber firmly claims that any physical violence she committed was done in self-defense. In the same phone conversation, she tells her ex-husband, “You poke an animal enough, it is eventually, it doesn’t matter how friendly it is, it’s not cool.”

In the call, Amber can also be heard saying, “I can’t promise you I won’t get physical again. God, I f****** sometimes get so mad I lose it.” No matter her claim, Johnny’s lawyers used them against her. It was clear they wanted to tell the world that she was not a victim but a perpetrator.

Johnny Wasn’t Any Better Though

Johnny wasn’t all clean as well, though. In the same recording, the actor was heard discussing what sounds like domestic abuse from both sides with Amber. “I left last night. Honestly, I swear to you because I just couldn’t take the idea of more physicality, more physical abuse on each other,” he said.

Johnny also said, “Because it would have gotten f****** bad if we continued it.” Most chilling of all, he told Amber, “And baby, I told you this once. I’m scared to death we are a f****** crime scene right now.” No matter who threw the first punch, what’s clear to everyone is that they were in a toxic relationship.

Johnny Sues The Sun

In the midst of his ongoing legal battle with Amber, Johnny also sued the News Group Newspapers. They are the group liable for The Sun, over one of their articles. In it, they branded Johnny as a “wife-beater” hired by JK Rowling for Fantastic Beasts.

However, Johnny didn’t stop at suing News Group Newspapers. He also sued The Sun’s executive editor Dan Wootton for publishing the article that helped tarnish his reputation. From there, another can of worms was opened up in front of the whole world.

Amber Feared For Her Life

As the legal battle between Amber and Johnny continued, Amber released at the time more shocking statements. One of those was that there were several times in their marriage when she thought that she could be in life-threatening danger,” she said.

Amber continued to explain, “some incidents were so severe that I was afraid he would kill me, either intentionally or just by losing control and going too far.” This statement was a more serious claim, given that it insinuated that Johnny was possibly homicidal.

“The Monster”

As to why she called him a monster, Amber claimed that her ex-husband had another side to him under the influence of alcohol and drugs. She even went on to say that it was Johnny himself who described him as “The Monster.”

“Whenever he was using, I worried for both of us,” Amber said. “He would become a different person, often delusional and violent.” Allegedly, Johnny has “a self-created third party” who was unpredictable. And his violence would include shoving Amber, pulling her hair, and throwing things at her.

He Allegedly Had Amnesia

In Amber’s written testimony, she says that Johnny “often didn’t remember what he had done because of the sheer amount of alcohol and drugs he had consumed.” She also noted that afterward, “it was as if it hadn’t happened for him.”

Amber also explained that incidents took place only in their private life. That’s why Johnny might seem like one person on the outside but be a completely different person in a private setting. She also claimed that Johnny uses his charisma to convey a particular impression of reality.

The Unfortunate Flight

One key event Amber brought up in court was an incident in May 2014 when she and Johnny took a private plane. She claims that Johnny had been verbally harming her and even tossing items at her. However, the most severe action was when she went unconscious on the bathroom floor after Johnny kicked her in the back.

According to her testimony, the actor drank heavily before the flight. She also noted that Johnny apologized later on with a text message. He claimed to have forgotten what he did in the same statement. She also received a text from his assistant saying, “He’s a little lost boy. And needs all the help he can get.”

The Three Day Binge

After their wedding ceremony, the couple headed to the Pirates Of The Caribbean star’s private island in the Bahamas for their honeymoon. However, the joy of the moment didn’t last long. Amber recounted that they were only a month into their marriage when Johnny went into a three-day ecstasy binge

“Johnny told me that I had not explicitly forbidden him from taking ecstasy. The argument heated up, and Johnny pushed me, slapped me, and shoved me to the ground before I retreated to a locked bedroom,” Amber stated. Later on, he allegedly agreed to stay sober but didn’t carry it through.

More Startling Information

Allegedly, the abuse toward Amber didn’t stop when she went to the bathroom. The actor continued to drink. He also continued to be violent to his new wife. Amber claims that Johnny threw her through a ping pong table in one instance. 

In addition to that, the Aquaman star also claims that he hurt her by wrapping his hands on her neck. He also apparently used blood and oil to write on the walls. These details are gruesome. It also goes against everything the public thought about the actor.

Amber’s Scars

During those three days, the incidents apparently left Amber with scars on her arms and feet. She also noted that the healed over scars from when Johnny launched her into a ping pong table were still visible on her body.

In response, Johnny’s team accused her of deliberately harming herself just to get the scars and use them in the case. “These are scars of self-harm, straight and inflicted by you and certainly not Mr. Depp,” they said in their statement. Amber has strongly denied this.

Amber’s Stylist Never Saw The Bruises

Samantha McMillen, Amber’s stylist, came in as a witness and was questioned about the black eye the actress described. Her answers threw a damper on Amber’s case. She claimed that she had never seen any bruising on the actress’ face. 

Samantha told the court that she spent time with Amber the day following the alleged incident. She admitted that she saw the actress in clear light at close range and with no makeup and said she “could see clearly that Ms. Heard did not have any visible marks, bruises, cuts, or injuries.”

Winona Ryder Testifies

In the 90s, Winona and Johnny became the “it” pair and announced their engagement five months into their relationship. With their history, the court called Winona to give a statement about her connection with Depp. In her statement, Winona said, “I knew Johnny very well years ago. We were together as a couple for four years, and I counted him as my best friend and as close to me as family.”

”I was absolutely shocked, confused, and upset when I heard the accusations against him. The idea that he is an incredibly violent person is the farthest thing from the Johnny I knew and loved. I cannot wrap my head around these accusations. He was never, never violent towards me,” she continued.

Winona Felt Safe With Johnny

Winona was adamant about defending Johnny’s reputation. “He has never been violent or abusive towards anybody I have seen. I truly and honestly only know him as a good man – an incredibly loving, extremely caring guy who was so very protective of me and the people he loves, and I felt so very safe with him,” she said. 

“I do not want to call anyone a liar, but from my experience of Johnny, it is impossible to believe that such horrific allegations are true. I find it extremely upsetting, knowing him as I do,” she continued, rounding up her statement.

Johnny’s Ex-Wife Comes Forward

Former model Vanessa Paradis had a relationship with Johnny and is the mother to his children. They had been together for 14 years in which Vanessa says she had “known Johnny to be a kind, attentive, generous and a non-violent person and father.”

“On movie sets, the actors, directors, and entire crews adore him because he is humble and respectful to everyone and one of the best actors we’ve seen,” she claims. That wasn’t the end of her statement, though.

Vanessa Fights For Johnny

In addition to those, Vanessa continued to tell the court that the picture of Johnny that Amber was painting was “nothing like the true Johnny I have known.” She also goes on to say, “And from my personal experience of many years, I can say he was never violent or abusive to me.”

Rounding up her statement, Vanessa also gave her opinion as someone who was watching from the sidelines. “I have seen that these outrageous statements have been distressing and also caused damage to his career because unfortunately, people have gone on believing these false facts,” she declared.

Was It The Dog?

One of the most horrifying allegations in the case was when Johnny discovered feces on his bed. He found it after a party. And he believed it was Amber’s. Of course, Amber strongly denied the claim. Instead, she said it belonged to Johnny’s Yorkshire terrier pup, Boo.

In response, Johnny said, “It was not left by a three or four-pound dog. I was convinced that it was either Ms. Heard herself or one of her cohorts involved in leaving human feces on the bed.” According to him, they fought at the time, and it was Amber’s way of getting revenge.

Johnny Decides Enough

After the fecal matter incident, Johnny had enough. And he stated, “I wanted nothing to do with her,” he admitted deciding that he wanted to divorce the actress right at that moment. After that, he sent her a text with the statement, “all my love and regrets … I wish you nothing but good.”

Johnny also said, “That is what I felt. I didn’t think there needed to be any poison at the time because the bad part was over, which was the relationship, and now we just had to finish it.” That said, it was Amber who filed for divorce in May 2016.

The Incident With Johnny’s Finger

Amber’s accusations shocked the world, but people didn’t expect Johnny to turn her accusations right back at her. He claimed that she was the one who abused him. And one of his examples was when she allegedly severed his finger after throwing a glass vodka bottle at him. 

Johnny gave disturbing pictures to prove the injury. His team also called his previous assistant, Stephen Deuters to give a testimony. Deuters told the court that, “he [Johnny] had sustained his injury when Ms. Heard had thrown a bottle at him which smashed on his hand”.

More Evidence From Johnny

In addition to the accident with his finger, Johnny said that Amber’s claims actually represented her actions to him. He claims that she would punch him. He had to “lock her arms” to defend himself in one instance. He insisted that he wasn’t also actively violent towards her.

Johnny provided photo evidence from that incident. However, he admitted that there was one time when he head-butted Amber in their Los Angeles home. He maintains that it was an accident that happened during one heated argument between the two.

The Cigarette Burn

That’s not all. Johnny also accused Amber of burning his face with the butt of a cigarette. According to him, the actress extinguished her cigarette on his face, which left a blemish. His lawyers say that this mark can be seen in a photo of Johnny stretched out in the hospital waiting to receive treatment for his severed finger.

Amber denied the accusation. Her attorney said that Johnny’s claims were “absurd, offensive and categorically untrue.” He also said, “This photograph proves nothing – apart from the fact that Johnny Depp is desperate to throw out any outlandish allegation to deflect attention from his physical and ongoing psychological abuse of Amber Heard.”

Amber Cheating With James Franco

Aside from injuries, Johnny had other tings to report about Amber. He also revealed that Amber had been involved in more than one extramarital affair in their marriage. One of those was with James Franco. Amber starred with him in the crime-thriller The Adderall Diaries in 2015.

In the movie, Amber played the romantic interest of James’ character. So they had to get pretty close and cozy on set. And Johnny believed they carried this romance of theirs off-screen. Beforehand, he also admitted to feeling uncomfortable about the two working together. 

Was Amber Being Two-Faced?

Johnny claims that he had grounds to be green-eyed because of what Amber said concerning James and how she acted with him. “She told me many things that were very, very negative about Mr. Franco and that he had tried to kiss her and made sexual advances towards her,” Johnny revealed.

Then, as Amber’s uncomfortable feelings and statements started to ebb away, Johnny admitted that his feelings of jealousy began to grow. “It provoked me to become jealous because… it shocked me that she was suddenly so friendly and happy with him,” Johnny admitted. However, Amber denies that anything romantic happened between her and James.

Second Affair With Elon Musk

In addition to James Franco, Johnny was also convinced that business magnate and Tesla CEO Elon Musk was also sleeping with his wife. The pair did end up dating after Amber filed for divorce, but Johnny believed they had seen each other much earlier.

Johnny believes the affair started as early as 2015. However, Amber has a different recollection of it. She insists that she didn’t have a romance with Elon during her marriage. And according to her, she and Elon shared a “beautiful friendship” filled with “intellectual curiosity, ideas, and conversation, a shared love for science.”

The Text Messages Between Elon And Amber Revealed

To further investigate the alleged affair between Amber and the Tesla CEO, the court read private text messages between them in court. One of the exchanges happened the day after Johnny allegedly threw his phone at Amber in 2016. Amber confided that she wanted to file a restraining order, and Elon offered her his own 24/7 private security.

One of his messages read, “The offer would stand, even if you never wanted to see me again… anyway, sorry for being an idiot. The radio silence hurts a lot. It only matters because I really like you.” A concierge and Johnny and Amber’s apartment also testified that he saw Elon visit Amber “when Mr. Depp was in Australia.”

Amber Just Wanted To Move On

As Johnny’s team continued to release one damaging accusation after another against Amber, her spokesperson released a statement about what she’d have to gain from lying. “Amber never asked for these proceedings to take place. Amber obtained a domestic violence restraining order against Depp back in 2016 and has tried to move on with her life,” it said.

“It is Johnny Depp who brought these proceedings against a British newspaper and has dragged her to the UK courts to give evidence on some of the most distressing moments of her life,” the statement went on to say. 

Narcotic Abuse From An Early Age

For his defense against his excessive drinking and narcotics use, Johnny testified about his own early life. He admitted in court that he started using drugs at the tender age of 11. He said it happened “when it was not a particularly stable or secure or safe home life.”

Apparently, Johnny got this habit from his mother, Betty Sue Palmer. She would often ask little Johnny to “go and get her nerve pills.” He understood this as pills that calmed her nerves, so he brought her the drugs and took one as well. That began his narcotics abuse.

Amber Wasn’t Helpful With His Addiction

In addition to his history, Johnny also blamed his ex-wife for his relapses. Johnny knew that he was recovering from addiction during “significant parts” of his and Amber’s marriage. But, looking back, he realized she wasn’t helping him get better at all.

Johnny said that Amber actually encouraged his relapses and dependence on substances instead of “supporting my sobriety.” And while he claims that he’s “not in any way embarrassed” admitting to his addictions, he was adamant that he was never violent with anyone while under the influence.

The Court’s Final Verdict

Finally, on November 2, 2020, and after a long wait and an onslaught of gruesome allegations from both sides, the court ruled in favor of The Sun. The verdict was that the newspaper wasn’t out of place calling Johnny a “wife-beater.”

“Taking all the evidence together, I accept that she [Amber] was the victim of sustained and multiple assaults by Mr. Depp in Australia,” the judge said. “I accept her evidence of the nature of the assaults he committed against her. They must have been terrifying,” the judge continued. 

A Sign Of The Depth Of His Rage

The judge explained that the particular incident that left her without reasonable doubt that Johnny was violent with Amber was when he scrawled on the walls with blood. “It is a sign of the depth of his rage that he admitted scrawling graffiti in blood from his injured finger,” the judge asserted.

“And then, when that was insufficient, dipping his badly injured finger in paint and continuing to write messages and other things,” the judge continued. Given all that, she felt that The Sun didn’t go over the line describing Johnny with such strong language.

Thanking Amber

After the verdict’s release, The Sun was adamant that the ruling was fair and unbiased. A spokesperson for the paper released a statement reading, “The Sun has stood up and campaigned for the victims of domestic abuse for over 20 years. Domestic abuse victims must never be silenced.”

“We thank the judge for his careful consideration and thank Amber Heard for her courage in giving evidence to the court,” they declared. The public, on the other hand, had differing opinions. And some even considered the paper’s statement to be insincere and hypocritical.

Amber’s Final Word In The UK

Of course, Amber was happy with the court’s ruling. But that doesn’t mean she was quite done with Johnny just yet. Elaine Charlson Bredehoft, one of Amber’s council released a statement that said, “For those of us present for the London High Court trial, this decision and judgment are not a surprise.”

“Very soon, we will be presenting even more voluminous evidence in the U.S. We are committed to obtaining justice for Amber Heard in the U.S. Court and defending Ms. Heard’s Right to Free Speech,” Elaine continued. Amber felt as if she was a public figure defending violence.

Johnny’s Side Refuse The Verdict

It’s not only Amber who planned to fight more in the future. Johnny’s team also clarified that that wasn’t the end of their case. They revealed that they found the ruling “as perverse as it is bewildering” and vowed to follow up with an appeal.

“Most troubling is the judge’s reliance on the testimony of Amber Heard and corresponding disregard of the mountain of counter-evidence from police officers, medical practitioners, her former assistant. Other unchallenged witnesses, and an array of documentary evidence which completely undermined the allegations, point by point,” Johnny’s representatives said.

Johnny Continues His Fight

In addition to that crushing defeat in court, Johnny has lost thousands of dollars, and his reputation has further worsened. He released a statement saying, “The surreal judgment of the court in the U.K. will not change my fight, to tell the truth, and I confirm that I plan to appeal.”

Surprisingly, Johnny’s fan base almost seemingly grew larger despite his defeat. More people came out to support him. And many declared that they continue to believe he’s innocent of what he’s accused of. Many of his fans also vowed to continue to support him in his quest to prove his innocence.

JK Rowling Drops Johnny

After four days of the ruling, Johnny was dropped from one of his most significant and lucrative roles as Grindelwald in the Fantastic Beasts franchise. Warner Bros. Entertainment asked him to resign, but he didn’t have a choice in the matter.

“I wish to let you know that I have been asked to resign by Warner Bros. from my role as Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts, and I have respected and agreed to that request. My resolve remains strong, and I intend to prove that the allegations against me are false,” he said in a statement.

Replacing Johnny

Soon after, Warner Bros also confirmed on their end that Johnny was being dropped from the franchise. Fantastic Beasts 3 went into production, and they recast the role of Gellert Grindelwald. . “Johnny Depp will depart the Fantastic Beasts franchise. We thank Johnny for his work on the films to date.”

It didn’t take long before Warner found their new Grindelwald in the Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen. He is now in line to keep playing the role of the enigmatic wizard. As for Johnny, he summed up his current circumstances with one sentence, “My life and career will not be defined by this moment in time.”

The Opening Statement Sets The Tone For The Second Trial

On April 12, 2022, the couple’s second trial against each other began in Virginia. For his opening statement in his defamation case against Amber, Johnny said that while he and Amber would get into heated arguments, he never got violent. “Never did I myself reach the point of striking Ms. Heard in any way, nor have I ever struck any woman in my life,” he insisted. 

On the other hand, Amber’s camp said that Johnny would try to “turn this case into a soap opera.” To some degree, they were right. The entire defamation trial is on display for the whole world to see. And the public gets to hear every sordid detail about the pair’s toxic relationship. 

Dr. Kipper Testifies To Treating Johnny’s Finger

Johnny’s longtime doctor David Kipper participated in a deposition. There, the doctor recalled treating Johnny’s finger. According to him, however, he didn’t know how Johnny had gotten the injury. But there was a text message to Kipper from Johnny claiming that the actor cut his own finger. 

When asked about the message, Kipper said, “I think that’s what it said, yes.” In addition to that, he testified that Johnny told the ER doctors that he cut his finger with a knife. Later on, when Johnny took the stand, he explained that he lied to both his doctor and the ER staff to protect Amber’s name. “I didn’t want to get her in trouble,” he testified. “I tried to just keep things as copasetic and as easy as possible for everyone. I did not want to put her name in that mix.”

Amber Accuses Johnny Of Sexual Assault

In another shocking and horrible detail that Amber revealed in court, she accused Johnny of sexually assaulting her with a bottle. She recounted that the incident happened back in March 2015. Johnny allegedly threw a Maker’s Mark bourbon bottle at her. Then, he picked it up, held it against her neck, and said he’d “cut-up” her face. After that, he allegedly proceeded to insert the bottle into her.

In response, Camille Vasquez, one of Johnny’s attorneys, questioned why there were no medical records of the assault. Amber also testified that she feared the bottle Johnny used was broken. But it was intact in a photograph taken of the bottle after the incident. When questioned about the lead-up of events to the incident, Amber claims she couldn’t remember what happened.

Johnny’s Controversial Texts About Amber Are Revealed

Text messages of the actor which revealed what Johnny claims is his dark humor were also presented to the court. In one message to his neighbor Isaac Baruch, he said, “I hope that Amber’s rotten corpse is decomposing in a f–king trunk of a honda civic.”

There were also messages to Paul Bettany that said, “I will f*** her burnt corpse afterward to make sure she’s dead.” In response, Johnny expressed embarrassment at the language he used. He reasoned that he grew up watching Monty Python, which resulted in his kind of humor.

Johnny Claims Amber Used His Childhood To Verbally Attack Him

Johnny didn’t have an easy childhood. And the actor claims that Amber used that as ammunition to either “verbally decimate me or to send me into a kind of tailspin of confusion and depression.” To find peace, Johnny says he would try to walk away. 

The actor said, “there were times when I would just go and lock myself in the bathroom or anywhere that she couldn’t get into.” As a result of these constant clashes, the actor says he was more inspired to search for a numbing agent to maintain himself.

Johnny Calls Detoxing Under Amber The Lowest Point Of His Life

Kipper testified that the actor and Amber went to the Bahamas in 2014 for Johnny to detox after dental surgery. It didn’t go as smoothly as he had planned, and Johnny accused Amber of withholding medication that would sustain him.

In his testimony, Johnny said he broke down crying during that trip. Amid a withdrawal, he had to bed Amber to give him his medication. “That was the lowest I’d ever felt as a human being,” he recalled. “Tears streaming down my face, begging another human being, ‘Please, please give me the meds that will take this away.’ And she would not.”

Amber Claims Her Role In Aquaman 2 Was Reduced Because Of The Legal Drama

Amber blames the ongoing legal battle between her and Johnny for the reason they pared down her role in Aquaman 2. “I was given a script, then given new versions of the script that had taken away scenes that had action in it,” she said. “They basically took a bunch out of my role. They just removed a bunch.”

In response, Johnny’s team brought out Walter Hamada, president of DC films for Warner Bros. Pictures as a rebuttal witness. He said they considered recasting Amber because of her lack of chemistry with Jason Momoa. “Editorially they were able to make that relationship work in the first movie, but there was a concern that it took a lot of effort to get there,” Hamada testified. “You know it when you see it, and the chemistry wasn’t there.”  

Amber’s Sister Claims Johnny Struck Her During An Argument

Amber’s sister, Whitney Henriquez, told the court she witnessed one of the couple’s heated fights in 2015. And she claims Johnny struck her. “I’m standing on the top of the stairs, with my back to the stairs, and that’s when Johnny runs up the stairs,” she claimed. “He comes up behind me and strikes me in the back…I hear Amber shout, ‘Don’t hit my f–king sister.'”

Amber then allegedly goes to punch Johnny and lands one. Whitney then says Johnny grabbed Amber “by the hair with one hand and was whacking her repeatedly in the face with the other.” Later on, she also said she was unsure who Johnny was aiming for when he struck her.

Whitney Details Fights Between Johnny And Amber

According to Whitney, the two were “incredibly in love” initially. But apparently, whenever the actor was using, there would be a fight. “There was always a period when they weren’t getting along,” she said. “It seems to oscillate very quickly. He would be sober for a little while and almost quickly fall off the wagon and start to use or drink, and there’d be some sort of big blowout.”

Whitney also said that whenever the pair fought, there was always something that would get destroyed. She then went on to say that by the end of the relationship, Amber was physically unwell to the point that she was emaciated. 

Orthopedic Surgeon Discusses Johnny’s Finger Injury

On May 23, orthopedic surgeon Dr. Richard Moore testified that he didn’t believe Johnny’s account of how his finger was severed. “The description was the hand being flat on the bar and the bottle crushing the finger from the top,” Dr. Moore said.

“But looking at the images, there’s really no significant injury to the dorsal of the finger and created the type of injury…we would anticipate both injury to the fingernail and other parts of the finger.” Vasquez, however, sought to undermine Dr. Moore’s testimony saying that the doctor never treated Johnny’s finger, nor did he examine it personally. As a result, she argued that he wasn’t in a position to rule out Johnny’s account of the incident.

Morgan Night Testified

Morgan Night was the former owner and live-in manager of the Hicksville Trailer Palace, where Amber claims that Johnny had also assaulted her. He claims that it was Amber who was jealous and aggressive that day to the point that he saw Johnny cowering from her. He also said that Johnny began to get quieter after Amber yelled at him throughout the night.

In Whitney’s testimony, she said the room Johnny and Amber stayed in was destroyed. Contrary to that, Night said that the only thing damaged in the trailer was a light fixture. Amber’s attorney, Elaine Bredehoft, tried to undermine Night’s testimony by accusing him of being a fan. Night was also accused of interacting with a Justice for Johnny type of Twitter account.

Kate Moss Denies Johnny Pushed Her Down The Stairs

One of Johnny’s team’s most surprising witnesses is Kate Moss, who has had a relationship with the actor. Rumors swirled that Johnny pushed Kate down the stairs when they were together. And Heard referred to that during an alleged confrontation with Johnny. However, Kate said that Johnny “never pushed me, kicked me or even threw me down any stairs.”

She also recalled an incident when they were vacationing. “We were leaving the room, …and as I left the room, I slipped down the stairs, and I hurt my back,” she said. “I screamed because I didn’t know what happened to me, and I was in pain, and he came running back to help me and carried me to my room and got me medical attention.”

Former TMZ Producer Claims Amber Tipped Them Off

On May 25, Johnny’s team called up former TMZ producer Morgan Tremaine. In his testimony, he claimed that they got the videos of Johnny being destructive from Amber and her representatives themselves. He said they were also tipped off when Amber went to court. 

“We were trying to capture Amber leaving the courthouse and an alleged bruise on the right side of her face,” he told the court. “She was going to sort of stop and turn towards the camera to display the bruise on the right side of her face, the alleged bruise.” Amber previously denied working with TMZ.

Expert Says Amber’s Bruising Photos Were Edited

Another rebuttal witness on Johnny’s team called to stand was Norbert “Byran” Neumeister, a metadata expert, who claimed that several of Amber’s photos with bruises were modified. For one photo that showed bruising on Amber’s arm.

Norbert said that the files “don’t match forensically” and all “had to go through some type of transformation to change sizes.” This isn’t the first time Amber was accused of editing her photos. During Amber’s cross-examination, Vasquez accused Amber of editing her photos. However, Amber claims that her photos were just taken in different lighting. 

Johnny And Amber’s Attorneys Deliver Closing Statements

For closing statements, Vasquez was the first to speak to the jury.  “We ask you to give Mr. Depp his life back by telling the world that Mr. Depp is not the abuser Ms. Heard said he is and hold Ms. Heard accountable for her lies,” Vasquez said. “What is at stake in this trial is a man’s good name. Even more, what is at stake at this trial is a man’s life, the life that he lost when he was accused of a heinous crime.”

On the other hand, Benjamin Rottenborn, Amber’s attorney, told the jury that if Amber was abused physically, emotionally, or verbally just once, she would win. “They’re trying to trick you that Amber has to be perfect in order to win…don’t fall for that trick,” he said. “Amber’s not perfect; none of us are…A ruling against Amber here sends a message that no matter what you do as an abuse victim, you always have to do more.”
