Lily-Rose Depp Knows What She Is Doing And What She Wants

Popularity, advantages, privileges. All true. History, however, teaches us that the life of the children of stars is not really all roses and flowers, or at least not always. growing up on the Hollywood hills is a double-edged sword to be handled with care. The more the surname is resonant and known, the more the combo composed of media attention and pressured expectations reaches stratospheric levels.

Lily-Rose Depp can attest to this firsthand. The daughter of Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis is now 20 years old and has chosen on her own initiative to pursue a film career (and she is doing it very well) and thus to deal with her powerful DNA.

But what was it like to grow up in the shadow of two such famous parents? Lily talked about it with The Sun in an interview, in which she shows, once again, that she knows what she’s doing.

“My parents weren’t very strict. They always trusted me and my independence in making my decisions. There was really nothing to rebel against,” she said thinking about when mom Vanessa and dad Johnny were still a couple and they lived under the same roof (the two were together from 1998 to 2012 but without being ever married).

“Both left school at 15, so they can’t really tell me anything. I never thought of university as one of my goals, I always wanted to work, “she continued, underlining all the will to get involved and work hard, without recommendations. A love for cinema inherited from dad and cultivated over the years in Hollywood, however, combined with the natural inclination for everything that is the fashion world, proven attitude of mother Vanessa.
