Peta Murgatroyd And Son Shai-Warms Our Hearts With Sweet Instagram Post

By Fatime G

We love a sweet Instagram moment, and 35-year-old Dancing with the Stars alum and her son Shai are pulling at our heartstrings with this one. On Thursday evening, the mother-son duo graced our timeline with a slide of photos making funny faces and silly expressions. There was also a video showing the two laughing as they used the scary face filter captioned, ‘My guy (heart-shaped eyes emoji).’ ‘I love him so much it hurts. My twin’, the mom gushed. ‘Always and forever, XO.’

Shai, the star’s son with her husband, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, is turning out to be quite the entertainer. Taking after his parents, Peta said that Shai had begun dancing at 3, with cha-cha and waltz being his go-to moves. Is the little man showing any of his parents’ ballroom skills? In an Us Weekly interview in September 2020, The New Zealand native said it was ‘too early to tell.’

Mumma’s Little Man

Shai, now five years old, takes us back to years when his mom took to Instagram with a loving post about her ‘prince.’ It got us thinking, was it not only in 2017 that the couple tied the knot in New York? Throughout the years, we have seen Shai be his mom’s number one fan, hang-out buddy, and selfie partner through Peta’s gushing posts of her fantastic motherhood moments.

The father of one and ballroom pro was elated when he first learned of the gender of his baby boy. He mentioned he enjoyed the joys of fatherhood with little Shai. Excited and hopeful for a little girl next, the Ukraine native added, ‘I just think it is a special thing.’

One Happy Family

In a recent Q&A on Instagram Story, the beauty line-owner shared her feelings towards her husband’s return to Poland. Replying that she was anxious about his leaving at first, she knew he had made the right decision and couldn’t be more proud. Maksim, a Ukraine native, left for the country earlier in March to help refugees in the war. While Chmerkovskiy’s contribution to the Ukrainian people is invaluable, we can’t help but hope for a family reunion soon.
