Quentin Tarantino said in a recent interview with Deadline that he would retire after his ten-part film series. This sounds like a crazy idea to some people, but there are some good points to consider before you start thinking the director has lost it. Let’s take a look at what Tarantino had to say about retiring from Hollywood.

Tarantino is 58 years old and has been directing films since the age of 26. That amounts to over 30 movies so far, including his latest release, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.

Tarantino says that he wants to retire before his directing skills deteriorate and the quality of his films suffers. He specifically said, “I’m not going to be one of those old people who are still doing this at 80 years old. Tarantino plans to quit his career in Hollywood once he reaches that age.

A Legacy Of A Lifetime

When asked about continuing making movies, Quentin Tarantino said that he does not believe in working past a certain point. He feels he shouldn’t continue if he is not getting better. The director added that he always wants to leave them wanting more. He said, “if I go out with a bang, that’s the best way to do it.”

Tarantino has been in Hollywood for his entire career, and is widely regarded as one of the most influential directors of all time. His legacy will last forever, but how much longer will he be here? While the rumor of his retirement has been swarming the web for some time, only time will tell when he will step back.
