Demi Lovato is one of the most successful pop artists of the past couple of decades, with more than 40 million streams for her 2018 track “Sober.” The song was about her chronic struggle with addiction to prescription pills. Interestingly, her addiction fueled her breakup with Wilmer Valderrama.

Although she dated the actor for six years, the relationship crumbled after the couple spent too much time apart. Known for her honesty, Lovato has posted a series of tweets exposing her inner feelings. Now, she is opening up more about the time spent with Wilmer Valderrama. She disclosed how much she loved Wilmer, but it felt like something was missing.

Lovato said that their breakup became inevitable as she grew up and matured. The former Disney star says they both realized they would not work as a couple after spending too much time apart. She felt lonely, but being alone was vital to dealing with her problems.

Although their relationship eventually fell apart, they appear to be on friendly terms. When Wilmer Valderrama married Amanda Pacheco in 2019, Lovato said she was happy for them. The “Sorry Not Sorry” hitmaker has also supported her high school sweetheart after he was cast as Victor Strand in The Walking Dead.
